About the Opportunity
We are seeking a new member for our Research Funding Support team. This team plays a crucial role in accurately interpreting research contracts, setting up research projects in our finance systems, and resolving any contract ambiguities to ensure precise financial records. Additionally, the team is responsible for the accurate and timely invoicing of the University's External Research revenue.
In this role, you will liaise with internal Chief Investigators and other stakeholders, assisting with requests related to variations, funds checks, overheads, and invoicing. Your efforts will ensure compliance with contract requirements and maintain accurate financial records throughout the project lifecycle. The position also encourages knowledge sharing and problem-solving to promote continuous improvement.
A typical day involves reviewing research contracts and setting them up in the finance system, creating project milestones, and raising invoices. You'll also perform funds checks and handle various queries from internal stakeholders, ensuring all financial records are accurate and compliant with contract requirements. This role requires a keen eye for detail and strong problem-solving skills to manage the complexities of research funding support effectively.

You will also have:
- Diploma qualifications or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
- The ability to perform under pressure, adhering to university procedures.
- Exceptional skills in accurately interpreting contracts.
- Strong communication skills with exceptional prioritisation and multitasking abilities.
- Demonstrated motivation, analytical thinking, and a keen attention to detail.
- Problem-solving capabilities and a proactive approach to promoting ideas for change.
Candidates must have full unrestricted Australian work rights and may be subject to a National criminal history check.
What we can offer
This is a 12 month, full time opportunity primarily based at Brisbane South (Nathan). As Griffith is a multi-site University you may be required to work across other locations.
Griffith University’s sites are located on the lands of the Yugarabul, Yuggera, Jagera, Turrbal, Yugambeh and Kombumerri peoples.
HEW 6 Salary - Base range - $91,843.49 - $97,964.71 + 17% super. Full package range - $107,456.89 - $114,618.72.
