What’s the role?
An exciting opportunity is available for a Service Operations Manager – AI Accelerator to join the CTO.
The AI Accelerator Platform underpins Westpac’s ambition to harness AI capabilities, consuming AI services from leading cloud providers such as AWS and Azure, as well as integrated offerings from Kasisto. Closely aligned to Westpac’s existing Enterprise Engineering Platforms, the capabilities are central to the bank’s digital transformation strategy, enabling accelerated delivery of AI use cases for the benefit of our customers, colleagues, and stakeholders.
As the Service Operations Manager, you will have the responsibility of running these mission-critical services. Your stewardship will ensure they remain robust, secure, highly available, and fully observable, all while meeting Westpac’s rigorous control obligations.
Additionally, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of banking, driving innovation at scale whilst upholding the highest standards of risk management, compliance, and customer centricity.
Key ingredients for success
- Proven experience in IT application development and support across complex tech environments, with exposure to Cloud and AI platforms.
- Skilled in managing service delivery for high-availability, mission-critical systems, including platforms like AWS or Azure.
- Demonstrated success in improving IT processes through automation, better monitoring, and faster incident response.
- Experience contributing to business cases that guide strategic investments, risk management, and cost control.
- Able to adapt to changing business needs and new technologies to support inclusive, future-focused banking solutions using AI.
- Passionate and supportive tech leadership expertise with deep operational experience in Cloud, AI, or enterprise platforms, known for reliability and delivery.
- Experienced in supplier, vendor, and project management, with a strong history of leading diverse teams, building great stakeholder relationships, and delivering results through clear communication and problem-solving.

You bring deep operational experience across cloud, AI, or enterprise-scale platforms, with a reputation for reliability, integrity, and delivery.
