Brimbank is continuously growing, with many transformational infrastructure projects about to break ground. A key focus of the coming years will be working with the State and Federal Governments to establish Melbourne Airport Rail; to complete redevelopment of Sunshine and Albion Stations; and the realisation of the Sunshine Precinct Masterplan which will Sunshine transformed into a CBD, vastly increasing local jobs, housing, businesses, services and tourism to provide for the many tens of thousands of people living, working and travelling through the Brimbank.

We are currently seeking a Part Time Permanent staff member to join our team based at our offices in Sunshine.


The role


  • Reporting to the Climate Emergency Coordinator, we are seeking a part time Sustainability Officer who can bring their skills and experience for:
  • Innovative renewable energy projects
  • Degasification of facilities
  • Providing technical expertise around energy for projects, small and large
  • Working with community on the renewable transition


To be considered you will have:


  • Local government experience is desirable
  • Degree qualifications in climate change, sustainability, environmental management, engineering or other related field or lesser formal qualification with substantial experience.
  • Experience delivering sustainability and or energy projects and services.
  • Experience in identifying and liaising with key internal and external stakeholders to achieve project outcomes. This includes implementing personnel practices and performance management of consultants.
