About the opportunity:
Play a vital role in advancing Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander student success at the University of Canberra by coordinating student support programs, fostering meaningful engagement, and building strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders through the Ngunnawal Centre.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate effectively with the Ngunnawal Centre team and internal/external stakeholders to support student success
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of and respect for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures
- Coordinate and maintain student support programs, including the Tutoring Program
- Promote student opportunities by providing guidance and resources for award applications
- Assist with donor-related activities and engagement
- Support the monitoring, evaluation, and documentation of student support initiatives (e.g. tutoring, mentoring)
- Engage with students through various communication channels to foster connection and support
- Maintain accurate data and electronic records using systems such as CRM
- Assist in coordinating events that encourage student participation in Ngunnawal Centre and broader University activities
- Represent the Ngunnawal Centre at University and community events such as Open Day, Career Expos, UC Welcome Day, and other outreach initiatives
- Hold a current Working With Vulnerable People (WWVP) card
Requirements:
This position has a strong involvement with and requires a deep understanding of the issues relating to and affecting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander People, as well as an ability to communicate sensitively and effectively in this regard.
