The Social Inclusion Team supports older adults to be self-sufficient, stay engaged and connected within their community, by collaborating with community stakeholders to strategically plan and implement initiatives.
About the Position
The Age Well Officer plays a key role in advancing the strategic priorities outlined in Council’s Health and Wellbeing Plan, with a focus on fostering inclusive age and dementia-friendly communities in Monash. As an integral part of the team, this position is responsible for designing, planning, and delivering projects and initiatives that promote an Age-friendly environment, enhancing the health, wellbeing, and social connectedness of older people.
Skills and Experience
- Experience with planning, implementation, and evaluation of initiatives in a community development or services environment
- Ability to work independently or in a team, working collaboratively with a range of stakeholders
- Highly developed computer skills using a range of software applications
- Understanding of issues related to older people and social inclusion principals
- Excellent organisational skills and ability to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines
- Minimum three years of experience in a similar role involving planning and delivering community development projects in a community service environment
Requirements
- Qualifications in health promotion, community development, social science, with relevant experience in community services
- Current Victorian Driver’s Licence
- Employee Working with Children’s Check
- Satisfactory National Police Check
- Other pre-employment checks may be required depending on the role requirements
