Spectrum Village is searching for a vibrant, values-driven Allied Health Assistant to support our Dietitian-led Food Play Program in Hervey Bay, QLD.
This isn’t just a support role — it’s a chance to empower children through sensory food exploration, promote confidence at mealtimes, and deliver life-changing early intervention in partnership with our warm, multidisciplinary team.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Supporting our therapists to deliver engaging, play-based food programs under NDIS funding
- Facilitating sessions that help children improve their relationship with food through the SOS (Sequential Oral Sensory) approach
- Providing centre-based client care
- Assisting with therapy resources, session prep, and implementation of individualised therapy treatment plans
- Documenting clear, concise, and audit-compliant session notes
- Working collaboratively with our occupational therapists, speech therapists, dietitians, and allied health assistants

We’re Looking For Someone Who:
- Has experience working with children (essential)
- Is passionate about food education, sensory engagement, and child development
- Understands and respects neurodivergence (Autism, ADHD, ODD, etc.)
- Has excellent communication and organisation skills
- Is flexible, reliable, and aligned with family-centred, strengths-based care
- Wants to be part of a fun, supportive team committed to making a difference
You Might Be:
- A uni student studying Dietetics, Occupational Therapy, or Speech Pathology
- A graduate (or near completion) of a Certificate IV in Allied Health Assistance
- Someone with a background in early learning, education, or food/nutrition programs
Minimum Requirements:
- Current Driver’s Licence
- Blue Card (Working with Children)
- NDIS Worker Screening Check
- First Aid & CPR
- National Police Check
Position Details:
- Part-time role available
