This temporary position provides essential support to the Curatorial team and the broader Arts, Culture and Economic Development team during a period of staff leave.
About the Role
You will assist in the delivery of exhibitions and events at Town Hall Gallery, support front-of-house operations, and contribute to the stewardship of the Community Exhibition Program. Your work will help maintain the high standards of Boroondara Arts and ensure a seamless experience for gallery visitors and artists alike.
About You
You are a motivated arts professional with a keen eye for detail and a passion for visual arts. With experience in gallery operations, exhibition installation, and public engagement, you’re ready to step into a dynamic role and contribute meaningfully during a short-term contract. You’re flexible, collaborative, and confident working with artists, curators and the public, including outside standard business hours.
Key Responsibilities
You will support the installation of exhibitions to museum standards, assist with artwork handling and condition reporting, and respond to enquiries about the Town Hall Gallery Collection. You’ll help maintain gallery supplies, the collection database and assist with moving artworks between venues. You’ll provide front-of-house services, greet patrons, and ensure artworks are appropriately supervised. Administrative tasks such as research, grant preparation and documentation will also form part of your role, along with other duties aligned with the objectives of the Arts, Culture and Economic Development team.
