Our organisation provides many services and programs, including soup vans, education programs, home visitation programs and VincentCare Victoria (VCV), which assist some of Victoria’s most vulnerable communities, such as people experiencing homelessness, the housing crisis and family violence, and the elderly.
Little bit about the role
As the Audit, Risk and Insurance officer, you will support the Legal and Risk team and in particular the work of the Senior Manager, Audit Risk & Insurance to evaluate and improve the effectiveness of internal controls, risk management and governance. The role will be primarily responsible for conducting internal audit work, and for providing assistance with insurance renewals and claims as well as supporting risk management across the group.
Your responsibilities
- Conduct and oversee internal audit and investigation work in relation to internal financial, systems, quality, assurance and compliance issues as required, including the preparation of findings and reports.
- Assist with the development, decision-making, implementation, review and improvement of all elements of the Risk Management Framework.
- Work with decision-makers, specialists, risk owners, control owners, subject matter experts and stakeholders to assess, control and monitor risk across the organisation.
- Assist with communication and reporting on risk and risk management to, and between all stakeholders, including the Group Audit, Finance and Risk Committee, Senior Leadership Team, Board and State Council.
- Assist with the implementation and administration of SVDPV’s suite of insurances.
- Act as a liaison point for insurance related queries, claims and claims management.
About you
- Relevant tertiary qualification in accounting, finance, data analysis, quality or related field
- CPA/CA/CIA Certification or working towards would be favourably regarded
- A good working knowledge of the Global Internal Audit Standards and the Australian Auditing Standards
- A good working knowledge of Australian Standard ISO 31000:2018 Risk Management
- A good working knowledge of insurance, insurable risk and claims management
- A good working knowledge of the legislative and regulatory compliance requirements applicable to SVDPV
