Transdev John Holland Buses is currently seeking a number of exceptional Authorised Officers to join our Customer Experience bus network team. The Authorised Officer role requires you to demonstrate exceptional customer service skills and is responsible for fare compliance on the bus network within Eastern Suburbs.
This role will part of a team, working an 8 hour shift spread across the hours of 5:00am to 11:00pm, including public holidays. This is a 12 month fixed-term full-time position with opportunity to extend.

You will undertake substantial training to be able to carry out the tasks and responsibilities of this position.
It is important to note that this role requires you to stand during your shift of 8 hours with an average of 10kms of walking.

The role is responsible for the following:
  • Delivering revenue protection services, and compliance activities across region 9
  • Provide a high standard of customer service and assisting customers across the public transport network ensuring fare compliance.
  • Acting as a first responder to incidents that may occur on service to ensure safety for passengers on board.
  • Deliver clear and concise information to customers and be able to diffuse difficult situations effectively.
  • Work closely with relevant internal and external stakeholders to assist with crowd management activities in response to network delays and incidents as required.
  • Leveraging your exceptional communication and problem-solving skills to meet customer needs.
  • Development and preparation of compliance related reports to the manager as required.
What you bring:
  • Hold a valid NSW Working with Children Clearance.
  • Hold a valid or ability to obtain First Aid Certificate.
  • Hold a valid NSW Driver’s Licence.
  • Proficient in a range of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • A positive attitude and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Strong communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage and influence at all levels.
  • Outstanding attention to detail, time management, and organisation skills to respond effectively to incidents.
  • Passion for delivering excellent customer service with a “can do attitude, when managing customer complaints.
  • Demonstrated critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Focused and compliant with all safe work practices.
  • Knowledge and understating of the bus network system within the Sydney Eastern area is highly desirable.
