Your role will involve:
Join Sydney Water’s Digital Business Programs (DBP) team and help transform how our customers and employees experience digital services. As a Business Analyst, you’ll be at the heart of our digital evolution—driving the design and delivery of customer, business, and corporate systems that make a real impact.
In this role, you’ll build strong relationships with users and stakeholders, using data-driven insights, research, and direct engagement to understand their needs, preferences, and pain points. Your work will shape digital products and initiatives that are not only functional but truly user focused.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Engage effectively with business and digital stakeholders and with consumers (users) of the proposed solution
- Outcomes elicitation and analysis
- Identify and analyse outcomes desired including needs, preferences and pain points and communicate the impact of constraints (including solution, schedule and budget).
- Uncover opportunities to leverage new technology capabilities
- Confirm that the solution(s) delivered address the needs identified and deliver the business outcomes in the Business Case.
- Align delivery to business capability and technology roadmaps.
- Digital requirements scope
- Systems integration requirements
- System functional requirements
- Digital analytics requirements
- Currents system/program impact analysis
- Technology impact and feasibility
- Knowledge of technology concepts
- UX/CX techniques and frameworks
- Systems Integration Testing (SIT) input
- Operational Acceptance Testing (OAT) input
- Conceptual data analysis (for input into data modelling)

Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in formal Business Analysis methods on projects and initiatives varying in size, complexity, ambiguity and abstraction.
- Apply industry standard business analysis frameworks, methods, tools and techniques.
- Business Analysis Body of Knowledge (BABoK)
- Process modelling to BPMN standard
- Business Analysis within Waterfall / Agile and Scrum methodologies
- Stakeholder workshops/interviews
- Service Blueprints
- Conceptual data modelling
- The proven ability to:
- Explain business and technical concepts in simple terms
- Learn a new domain very quickly and teach aspects of the domain problem and solution to business and technical stakeholders
- Write effective business scenarios, requirements documentation and conceptual & functional design documentation
