The Governance and Capability Service supports the Commissioner of Police in the discharge of his responsibility to control and manage SA Police by ensuring SAPOL has appropriate governance and capability to discharge its statutory charter, other government obligations and meet community expectations. The Service leads in supporting strategic thinking, determining strategic objectives, and fulfilling the organisation's vision and values in driving SAPOL performance.
The Cabinet Liaison Officer (CLO) is accountable to the ASO6 Senior Cabinet Liaison Officer for the provision of executive support to the Officer in Charge of Commissioners Support Branch, the Commissioner of Police and Deputy Commissioner of Police. The CLO provides formal responses to Ministerial, Cabinet and Parliamentary submissions, notes and legislation.
The CLO assists with the provision of comprehensive briefing and research services in relation to ministerial enquiries; supporting the Commissioner’s interaction with government; providing advice concerning Ministerial, Cabinet and Parliamentary related issues to employees of all levels in SAPOL; undertaking special assignments and projects; maintaining registers; and assisting with quality control by reviewing and implementing changes to associated administrative systems to improve efficiency.

- The incumbent may be assigned to other duties at this remuneration level or equivalent.
- Some out of hours work and intra/interstate travel may be required.
- The incumbent is required to participate in SAPOL’s iEngage program.
Salary
ASO5 - $85,790 - $95,413 per annum.
