Marra Worra Worra is seeking a motivated and culturally sensitive CDP Media, Marketing and Engagement Officer to enhance communications, visibility, and engagement for the Remote Australia Employment Services (RAES) program across the Fitzroy Valley.
This role is pivotal in developing and delivering timely, culturally appropriate communications that connect with job seekers, employers, community members, Elders, and key stakeholders. The successful applicant will support the promotion of employment services and community development initiatives while upholding Marra Worra Worra’s values and commitment to cultural respect.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop culturally appropriate communication materials (posters, newsletters, infographics, flyers, social media content) tailored to the Fitzroy Valley audience.
- Draft media releases and regular updates for local radio, newsletters, and internal publications to promote RAES services and success stories.
- Capture and share participant outcomes, events, and milestones in line with communication protocols.
- Ensure all external communications comply with National Indigenous Australians Agency (NIAA) branding, messaging, and style guidelines.
- Collaborate with Employment Services and Case Management teams to identify opportunities to promote participation and activities.
- Coordinate and support job expos, career days, cultural events, employer sessions, and other community promotional activities.
- Attend community meetings and forums to present RAES program features and gather community feedback.
- Develop engagement tools (posters, flipcharts, video messages) for use in consultations.
- Facilitate feedback loops with job seekers, Elders, community groups, and local organisations to strengthen engagement.

- Strong skills in public relations, media, and communications, with the ability to tailor messages for diverse audiences.
- Experience creating culturally sensitive communications in digital and print formats.
- Confidence in working collaboratively with Indigenous communities and stakeholders.
- Strong organisational and event coordination skills.
- The ability to uphold cultural protocols, community expectations, and organisational values.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $76,515.00 – $85,000.00 per year
