About the Role

Join our team as a Clinical Lead for CYFT, Community on a full time, ongoing basis working across multiple Monash Health sites.


Reporting to Manager, SECASA, Children Young People and Families Team. This position supports the Manager and team leader in leading the clinical operations of SECASA’s Children Young People and Families team. This position champions the provision of quality clinical counselling and therapeutic interventions for children and young people at SECASA providing evidence based therapeutic interventions and clinical support for the team.


As a member of the leadership team, this position will support operationalising SECASA’s strategic direction. This includes support to enable SECASA to achieve service targets within budget as specified in service agreements by the Department of Families, Fairness and Housing. In addition, you will play a key role in embedding evidenced based modalities into our service provision. The clinical Lead will have a strong emphasis on collaborative leadership, building and supporting a resilient team, and outstanding communication resulting in positive client outcomes. SECASA Clinical Leads are recognised for their clinical expertise, consolidated skills, and capacity to support team members to provide high quality therapeutic interventions.


About Us

The South East Centre Against Sexual Assault and Family Violence (SECASA), is a program of Monash Health and has the responsibility in the Southern Region of the Department of Families, Fairness & Housing (DFFH) for:

  • The provision and development of effective services to victim/survivors and associated people affected by sexual assault and family violence.
  • The provision of assessment and treatment for children and young people who have displayed in harmful sexual behaviour.
  • The provision of public education and professional training on sexual assault and anti-violence issues
  • Social planning and processes related to reducing societal violence.

About You

You bring demonstrated clinical experience in working with individuals affected by complex trauma, particularly in the context of sexual assault and family violence. You possess strong crisis intervention skills essential for supporting clients through acute distress, and you approach this work with empathy, professionalism, and clinical insight. You show a willingness to engage in evidence-based training and are committed to applying ongoing professional development to enhance your practice with SECASA clients. Additionally, you value collaboration and work effectively with other professionals and agencies to promote safety, support, and overall wellbeing for those in your care.


Qualification & Licence Requirements for this position include:

Social Work

  • Formal qualification in Social Work and eligibility for AASW
  • An Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW) accredited bachelor’s degree or entry level master’s degree of Social Work that provides eligibility for membership of the AASW
  • Written evidence of eligibility of AASW membership for overseas qualifications
  • Minimum of seven years’ experience as a qualified Social Worker
  • Postgraduate study in a relevant field would be desirable

Psychology:

  • Current General Registration as a Psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia (PsyBA) AHPRA
  • A minimum of five years’ experience as a generally registered psychologist
  • Having or working towards supervisor endorsement with the Psychology Board of Australia (AHPRA)
  • Appropriate post-graduate qualifications (Masters or Doctoral Degree) in counselling, clinical or forensic psychology in an Australian Psychology Accreditation Council (APAC) accredited course.
  • Evidence of participation in clinical research activities
  • Postgraduate study in a relevant field wold be desirable

In addiction SECASA has a committed in-house wellbeing team with monthly social activities planned. As part of SECASA's commitment to you, SECASA ensures all full time employees receive $500 and 5 days Professional Development leave per year. In addition to this SECASA as the largest sexual assault service in Victoria also offers a comprehensive induction to the service, along with evidenced based trauma focused training to ensure you feel equipped to complete the role, such training includes TF-CBT, CPT and EMDR.


As the largest sexual assault service in Victoria SECASA is leading the way in providing evidenced based therapeutic treatment to victim/survivors of sexual assault and family violence and has a strong research portfolio ensuring we remain at the forefront of trauma treatment.
