The opportunity
As the Coordinator of Libraries & Service Hubs you will lead the strategic delivery of innovative, community-focused services and facilities across Hobsons Bay’s Community Learning and Service Centres. This dynamic role offers the chance to shape high-quality service outcomes while adapting to evolving community needs and Council priorities.
What you’ll be working on
- Lead the strategic operations of Community Learning and Service Centres, overseeing staff development, compliance, service delivery, and facilities management.
- Plan and evolve services to meet changing community needs and strengthen local organisations.
- Recruit, lead, and inspire teams to foster a high-performing, agile, and innovative culture.
- Build strong partnerships with stakeholders to support programs, placements, and volunteer initiatives.
- Deliver integrated services that promote lifelong learning across the community.
- Manage staffing, budgets, and funding agreements, while identifying new grant opportunities.
What you'll need to succeed
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Social Sciences, Education, Community Development, or Library and Information Management.
- Strong leadership experience in community settings, including facility operations and team management.
- Excellent communication, planning, and analytical skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively.
- Deep understanding of local demographics, community needs, and the broader political and legal context.
- Proven ability to manage projects, develop partnerships, and deliver strategic outcomes.
- Experience in maintaining and managing community facilities and libraries.
- A creative, flexible problem-solver who drives innovation and continuous improvement.
