GREENPEACE AUSTRALIA PACIFIC (GPAP)
Greenpeace is an independent campaigning organisation that uses non-violent, creative confrontation to expose global environmental problems and develop solutions for a green and peaceful future!
This is a full-time, permanent position. Open to candidates Australia wide.
THE TEAM
Our primary goal is to bring down the might of the fossil fuel order standing in the way of a sustainable future – and we need your help to do it. We need a leader who can drive our digital supporter engagement function, and help us deliver the powerful, data-driven engagement strategies and dynamic storytelling needed to change the world.
You’ll join a skilled, dedicated and friendly team of digital engagement, social media and creative partnerships experts, working in a fast-paced dynamic environment committed to impact. This role will lead the team and be responsible for managing 2 Engagement Leads, a Creative Partnerships Lead and Social Media Coordinator.
We expose environmental crimes, hold companies and governments to account, promote climate solutions and inspire others to create positive change.
THE ROLE
The Digital Engagement Manager is a critical organisational leader and drives GPAP’s digital engagement strategy. The role manages one of GPAP’s core functions and is a key contributor to GPAP campaign, brand, fundraising and engagement goals.
The organisation looks to this role for guidance and leadership to help deliver the story of Greenpeace and our campaigns in an impactful and integrated way. The role works across teams with deep collaboration across departments to ensure coherent and impactful digital storytelling across the organisation.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE
We are looking for someone with a global mindset and the ability to apply a commitment to diversity, inclusion and justice in practice and reach diverse audiences through nuanced engagement strategies.
You understand the complex and ever-changing digital landscape, including the intersection of branding, online design, information architecture and UX.
You’ll be experienced in leading and managing a team, and you’ll be able to foster a culture that delivers excellence while ensuring the wellbeing of our brilliant staff (and yourself). You care about your colleagues, you collaborate naturally and you build relationships that make the organisation stronger.
You’ll have a background in a similar senior engagement or marketing position with social media marketing, brand communications & storytelling as part of that experience.
You’ll ideally also have:
- Knowledge of environmental/climate issues and the environmental/climate sector and how campaigning can achieve change and shift power
- An understanding of supporter engagement in a campaigning context and the role of digital tactics
- Experience and understanding of best practice across customer/supporter journeys, branding, design, social media, content development and UX
- The ability to inspire others, particularly in creative risk-taking and innovation
