One of Australia’s largest mines and a complex minerals processing operation, Olympic Dam, is unique in that we produce Copper, Uranium, Gold and Silver. Please note this position is based at Olympic Dam, operating on a 7/7 (day shift only) roster pattern, with residential, FIFO (from Adelaide) or DIDO options available.

We currently have a role available for a Specialist Electrical Reticulation Trainer to join our Mine Maintenance department. Reporting to the Electrical HV Reticulation Supervisor this role is responsible for providing support to the Electrical Reticulation team to develop on-the-job training packages. You will focus on Safe Standardised practices in Electrical and Communications Reticulation works, as well as identifying areas for improvement and ensuring that we are well placed for future growth within the mine.

In this role you will:

  • Comply to and consistently follow the standards and procedures designed to enable you to work safely and effectively every day
  • Deliver on-the-job training to new and existing team members
  • Focus on continuous improvement related to work carried out by Reticulation teams and imbed any improvements in training packages
  • Support the Reticulation Scheduler in completing scoping tasks as required on weekly basis
  • Provide training assistance to the Supervisor so they can focus on their core tasks
  • Work with front line teams to identify improvements via formal field leadership activities
  • Update and roll-out modified/new methods of completing tasks and then monitor consistency across teams
  • Develop working relationships with other mining teams and trainers to ensure reticulation activities are executed following the best-in-class methods
  • Provide continual feedback to the Supervisor on job safety and suggest improvements
  • Provide input into root cause analysis and subsequent resolution of action items affecting the reticulation system
  • Maintain a high level of working relationship with Reticulation Scheduler to support them in their weekly scoping tasks
  • Support Reticulation teams in roll-outs of any new systems/procedures to comply with national or state requirements
About You

  • Proven commitment to look after your own wellbeing and the confidence to speak up when others put themselves in harm’s way
  • Australian recognised Electrical Trade qualifications preferred, but not essential
  • Previous experience working as a Trainer, including nationally recognised qualifications in Training & Assessment (preferred)
  • Working at Heights and Integrated tool carrier tickets are advantageous
  • Experience with mining/minerals processing environments (preferred)
  • Proven ability to demonstrate appropriate HSEC behaviours
  • Ability to communicate across multiple levels and disciplines
  • Ability to work autonomously, or as part of a team
  • Current, valid driver’s licence
