About the role:
Yes, another exciting opportunity has arisen to join our friendly and collaborative Environmental Health Team! Due to the significant growth in Busselton and our expanding role in Public Health, the City has just approved the recruitment of a new EHO position to add to our team.
Reporting to the Senior Environmental Health Officer, as one of a team of EHOs within the wider Environmental Health team, you will proactively support our local community to achieve and maintain high standards of public and environmental health. Due to the unique nature of the region, the role offers a diverse range of public health areas including; food safety, water safety, caravan parks and camping grounds, waste-water approvals, event safety and mosquito management (just to list a few).
What you will need to succeed:
You will align with our values and ideally have the following competencies:
- Qualification acceptable for appointment as an Environmental Health Officer or authorised person, such as a Graduate Diploma or Bachelor of Science in Environmental Health.
- Considerable ability to interpret and apply Environmental Health legislation, policy and procedures.
- Well-developed written and verbal communication skills.
- Developed problem solving techniques, negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
- High level ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Experience in Local Government practices and procedures, programs, policies and activities and their application in Environmental Health disciplines.
