is somebody who thinks strategically about how best to make the content and the speaker come alive.
As the Executive and Employee Communications Manager for Microsoft Australia and New Zealand, you will have the opportunity to be the voice behind the voice, cementing the brand for our local Managing Director, both internally and externally.
You will play a critical role in defining the messages delivered by the Managing Director through internal and external communications including speaking engagements, video, social media and PR. You will also be responsible for developing content, in collaboration with internal stakeholders and external agencies, and for identifying and securing opportunities to build the Managing Director’s brand externally.
In addition, you will support corporate and brand storytelling by positioning Microsoft Australia and New Zealand as the best place to work and the leader in digital transformation and Artificial Intelligence, while also bringing to life our purpose of empowering every person and organisation on the planet to achieve more.
This includes identifying and developing stories which bring to life our corporate mission and landing those stories both internally and externally using a mix of earned, owned and paid media channels.
This is a 12-month parental leave cover contract - max term

Qualifications
Required Qulaifications :
- Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Business Operations, Communications or a related field
- OR equivalent experience
- You are an experienced communications practitioner with 8+ years’ experience
- You are a passionate communicator and storyteller with a strong mix of social media, marketing, PR and communications skills
- You thrive in a fast-paced environment with the ability to prioritise and multi-task across a variety of projects
- You have outstanding verbal and written communication skills and are able to clearly articulate complex issues and formulate recommendations to a wide variety of audiences
- A self-starter who takes initiative, develops a plan and sees it through to execution
- Optimistic, resilient and flexible, you are graceful under pressure and have a desire to work hard and drive results
- The ability to collaborate with multiple stakeholders and to work effectively with senior executives is critical in this role

Responsibilities
- Strategy, planning and execution – developing and executing against comprehensive executive communications and employee communications plans that encompasses relevant message platforms, storytelling, event execution, speaker image and personal development and covers both external and internal communications
- Stakeholder management – the ability to work effectively and gain respect of diverse groups, including executives, other executive staff, content and business owners, and event production teams
- Leadership communications – you will be responsible for supporting the Managing Director with communications to the people leader community and will work major change and transformation initiatives
- Written communication – writing scripted speeches, blogs, internal communications and more on behalf of the Managing Director and members of the senior leadership team
- Content development – support the development and creation of presentations and video content used by executives aligned with overall communications strategy
- Social media – manage and develop content for the Managing Director’s social media presence, including but not limited to Linkedin and X. This includes developing and approving blog posts and other written content
- Research/analysis skills – researching audience, technologies, industry trends and financial data to inform communications
- Alignment – working with the broader communications team (in country and region), the Office of the Area Vice President and other key stakeholders to ensure we are driving the right internal agenda across the business that inspires and guides our people
- Project management – managing multiple engagements simultaneously is a key responsibility of the role
- Agency management – managing multiple external vendors will be a key aspect of the role
