The Opportunity
The Finance Systems and Process Lead plays a critical role in managing and optimising VicGrid's financial systems, processes, and reporting frameworks to support operational efficiency, compliance, and strategic decision-making. This position provides subject matter expertise on finance system functionality and related leading practices, leads all improvement initiatives in a structured manner, and ensures that financial processes are aligned to best practice, fit-for-purpose, scalable and aligned with Victorian Government requirements.
What you will deliver
- Lead development and governance of financial reports and dashboards (Power BI, ERP) to deliver timely insights for decision-making.
- Facilitate stakeholder workshops to define requirements and drive process improvements in line with best practice.
- Act as primary liaison between Finance, business units, and vendors to ensure clear communication and delivery of business outcomes.
- Conduct gap analyses of processes and systems to identify and implement improvements.
- Enhance financial processes (budgeting, forecasting, reporting) to streamline workflows and boost efficiency.
- Build strong stakeholder relationships, coach for change, and resolve finance-related issues collaboratively.
- Deliver training, documentation, and support to build financial capability and ensure consistent adoption of tools.
- To practice cultural safety by creating environments, relationships, and systems free from racism and discrimination so that people can feel safe, valued, and able to participate.
What you will bring
- A relevant tertiary qualification in finance, accounting, business, or information systems is required.
- CPA or CA qualification is highly regarded.
- Demonstrated experience in the implementation, configuration, and optimisation of financial systems including data migration, user acceptance testing, and system training.
- Proven ability to lead the ongoing improvement of financial processes, data and reporting frameworks and the development of user-friendly dashboards and financial tools to support executive decision-making.
- High proficiency in financial systems, data analysis, and visualisation tools (especially Power BI), with the ability to translate financial data into meaningful insights for technical and non-technical audiences.
