Our Client, SIMPSON & SINGH PTY LTD a leader in the transport industry, is looking for a skilled Fleet Manager to oversee vehicle operations, including assessing needs, negotiating leases/purchases, and managing maintenance. The role involves providing expert advice, maintaining accurate records, and implementing cost-saving strategies. Job Responsibility:
· Oversee vehicle operations, including assessing needs, negotiating leases/purchases, and managing maintenance
Duties:
· Determine vehicle requirements by assessing type, load capacity, fuel efficiency, safety features, cargo space, and Tracking systems to align with operational needs.
· Source and negotiate the purchase or lease of vehicles, securing favourable terms including pricing, financing, service packages, and warranties.
· Coordinate the sale or disposal of outdated or damaged fleet vehicles through trade-ins, resales, or scrapping, ensuring optimal returns within budget constraints.
· Oversee maintenance and servicing schedules to ensure vehicles remain in top working condition, minimizing downtime and extending lifespan.
· Monitor and control vehicle usage and costs related to fuel, repairs, insurance, and overall operational efficiency.
· Provide expert recommendations to rental agencies and leasing companies regarding vehicle selection, acquisition, and management, utilizing industry insights to support efficient operations.
· Maintain comprehensive records of vehicle transactions, including purchase agreements, lease details, registrations, service logs, insurance, and disposal documentation.
· Conduct market research to identify trends and shifts in the vehicle rental and leasing industry, using insights to enhance competitiveness and inform strategic decisions.
· Assist in hiring qualified drivers by assessing skills, experience, and adherence to safety standards.
· Develop and manage driver schedules to maximize fleet utilization, meet delivery timelines, and minimize idle time.
· Take care of registering and licensing all vehicles in the fleet, making sure they follow all local, state, and national laws. Keep all documents current and accurate. Stay updated on any changes in government rules and make necessary adjustments to fleet operations to avoid any legal problems.
· Monitor driver behaviour and performance through tracking systems and feedback, ensuring safety, efficiency, and customer service standards.
Qualification:
· AQF Diploma or Higher
· 1 years of experience in related field
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $70,000.00 – $100,000.00 per year
