About the Role
We’re looking for an organised and proactive Governance Officer to join our team and support the delivery of governance services to the organisation and Council Members. Reporting to the Manager Governance, you will support the monitoring, maintaining and improving the Governance processes and systems within the organisation. You will assist with the production and distribution of meeting papers and the publication of governance information, while driving improvements to processes and systems. This role requires effective time management, attention to detail, critical thinking and the ability to provide professional advice to stakeholders across the organisation.
About You
Experienced in governance or administrative support, ideally within local government, you bring strong organisational skills and exceptional attention to detail. You have a strong understanding of relevant legislation and governance frameworks, and the ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders. Proficiency in IT systems and records management will support efficient governance operations and continuous improvement. Managing competing priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of work will be critical. A Certificate III in Business or Local Government Administration is desirable but not essential.
Incumbents in this position are required to possess a National Criminal History Clearance.
