The opportunity
We’re seeking a dynamic and strategic leader to join QBE as Head of Strategic Partnerships, reporting to the General Manager of Underwriting and Partnerships.
In this pivotal role, you’ll lead the development and expansion of high-impact relationships with QBE’s major trading partners across the region. Your leadership will drive sustainable growth, elevate customer value, and reinforce QBE’s market position.
You’ll also lead a team of astute Strategic Partnership Managers, fostering a high-performance culture and enabling the team to deliver ambitious partnership goals.
Your new role
- Lead and grow strategic partnerships in alignment with QBE’s growth strategy.
- Execute partnership strategies across digital, servicing, and performance.
- Collaborate with underwriting to drive strategies that support growth & retention.
- Enable partnerships that enhance customer relationships and loyalty.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Oversee functional responsibilities including strategy, planning, and performance.
- Monitor KPIs related to sales, new business, and digital adoption.
- Support achievement of NZPAC strategy and business plan.

Please note that for the successful candidate, this process will include a phone screen with our Talent Acquisition team, 2 interviews (either face to face or online via Teams) and background checks.
About you
- Extensive experience in the insurance industry, including leading large teams.
- Proven success managing C-level relationships and business development with major financial institutions or trading partners.
- Expertise in alternative distribution, affinity sales, and digital channels.
- A track record of innovation and customer segmentation in competitive markets.
- Strong leadership, stakeholder management, and analytical thinking skills.
