VCT Refrigerated Transport Pty Ltd (“VCT”) is a significant family-owned logistics company based in Irymple VIC 3498. VCT has a large fleet of long-haul vehicles and provides the following services: refrigerated dry transport, local domestic market transport and temperature-controlled storage.
We are seeking to employ a full-time, experienced Human Resource Manager to join our HR Department. Salary offered will be $76,515 per annum plus super. The Human Resource Manager will report to the Head of People and Culture. They will be responsible for planning, organising and coordinating all human resource and workplace relations activities, ensuring efficient execution of and alignment with VCT’s strategic objectives.
In particular, the Human Resource Manager will undertake the following tasks:
· Developing, implementing and reviewing HR policies and plans to align with VCT’s business objectives.
· Advising and supporting VCT’s department heads and business owners on best practices in recruitment and selection, including workforce planning in an isolated regional area.
· Overseeing the design and delivery of employee induction, training and professional development programs, taking into account foreign worker needs
· Establishing and implementing performance management systems to appraise and improve individual and team productivity and performance.
· Representing VCT in employee negotiations regarding remuneration, benefits and other working conditions
· Developing and ensuring compliance with DHA sponsorship obligations, Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) programs, including long-haul driving compliance requirements in line with legal and industry standards.
· Administering and advising on the application of redundancy and retrenchment procedures, ensuring fair and compliant practices.
· Monitoring and reporting on employment costs, workforce productivity and other HR metrics to support operational efficiency.
· Supervision of HR assistants in personnel and workplace relations matters.
Qualifications and Experience
· At least a bachelor’s degree or higher in Human Resource Management or related field
· Minimum 1 year experience in an HR role, preferably in logistics or a related industry
· Strong understanding of industrial relations and workplace legislation in Australia.
· Proven experience in managing HR teams and implementing company-wide initiatives,
· Excellent communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills.
