GemLife is looking for an experienced HSET Advisor to join our team in a role that focuses on our Highfields projects that are core luxury lifestyle resort developments. This is an exciting opportunity to work across the sites, applying your safety expertise to ensure compliance, best practices, and a proactive safety culture.
What You’ll Be Doing:
As an integral part of the Health and Safety team, you will ensure that our safety policies, procedures, and practices are implemented on our projects whilst providing continual improvement. You will also provide expert guidance and ongoing training on all matters related to health and safety. Your role will include;
- Visiting multiple sites in Highfields to provide expert HSET guidance and support.
- Ensuring all projects comply with WHS regulations and company safety policies.
- Leading safety training, toolbox talks, and risk assessments.
- Conducting safety audits and proactively identifying areas for improvement.
- Walk the site and collaborate with the Site Managers and Supervisors to ensure that the site is run at optimum performance, looking out for any hazards and reaching out to the team if they are working in a manner that puts them at risk.
- Conduct thorough inspections and audits of high-risk work activities to maintain top-notch safety standards.
- Review contractor Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS) to ensure strict compliance.
- Maintain effective communication with relevant stakeholders and authorities to foster a collaborative safety culture.
- Skillfully manage incidents and investigations, implementing preventive measures to safeguard the well-being of everyone involved.
- Continuously improve and administer the safety management system for even better outcomes.
- Deliver comprehensive data reports on findings to operational teams and senior management to drive informed decisions and enhanced outcomes.
What We’re Looking For:
- Experience in an HSET role within the construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of WHS regulations and risk management from a construction perspective.
- A proactive, hands-on approach with the ability to adapt to different sites and teams.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Cert IV in WHS or equivalent qualifications (Diploma preferred).
- A collaborative person who can work with the teams across the sites.
- Showcase your extensive experience in conducting safety audits and inspections.
- Demonstrate your proficiency in risk management and implementing safe work practices.
- Utilise your excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with various stakeholders.
- Leverage your strong knowledge of relevant health and safety legislation and regulations.
- Highlight your track record in creating and implementing safety policies and procedures that deliver results.
- Emphasize your ability to build positive relationships with regulatory authorities, fostering a constructive partnership.
- Showcase your overall experience in the fundamentals of the building process.
- Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety
- 3+ years experience desirable.
