The Role
We are currently seeking a Digital Media Designer who will play a key role in transforming technical information into visually engaging and interactive training content for the Navy. The successful candidate will design and develop high-quality digital media and gamified experiences to support the delivery of educational training resources. The Digital Media Designer is responsible for producing engaging eLearning content that aligns with project goals and learning outcomes, while keeping pace with emerging technology in mixed-reality applications.
Key responsibilities include:
- Produce high-quality digital media, including illustrations, graphics, and interactive elements to support training.
- Collaborate closely with subject matter experts, engineers, and fellow designers to translate technical content into intuitive and practical experiences.
- Apply principles of gamification to create interactive and entertaining educational content that enhances the user experience.
- Organise, maintain, and optimise design files and assets for easy access and efficient workflow, ensuring all materials are up to date and aligned with the project’s vision.
- Continuously review and refine designs based on feedback, ensuring digital content evolves to meet the changing needs of the project and end users.
About you
To be successful in this job you will possess the following:
- 2+ years of professional experience in digital media design, focusing on interactive content and eLearning development.
- Proficiency in 3D Modelling, 3D Model optimisation and animation.
- Proficiency in Graphic Design software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite: Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign).
- Strong knowledge of eLearning development tools (e.g., Articulate, Captivate, or similar platforms) for creating interactive and engaging digital courses.
- Experience with 3D Game Engine (or similar) and WebGL Design and Development.
- Experience in designing and developing digital graphics, illustrations, and interactive elements for training or educational purposes.
- Versatile with a strong technical mindset and creative problem-solving instincts.
- Experience or keen interest in programming language (EG. Javascript, C#, C++) is desirable.
- Experience or keen interest in computer simulation (EG. Physics-based, dynamic models) is desirable.
- Ambition to explore programming languages and an interest in AI tools.
Due to the Security Clearance required for this position, applicants must be an Australian Citizen and eligible to obtain and uphold a Baseline Security Clearance through the Australian Department of Defence.
