INTAKE COORDINATOR - Part-time – 9 day fortnight
Parental Leave Position August 2025-May 2026
An exciting opportunity currently exists to join The Geelong Clinic intake team in a relieving position. We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic mental health Clinician with strong interpersonal skills and exceptional organizational and time management skills with an ability to multi-task.
If you are a passionate mental health clinician who enjoys variety in your day and possess qualifications in Nursing, Eating Disorders, Psychology, Occupational Therapy or Social Work and have at least 2-3 years clinical experience working in mental health, then you might be exactly who we are looking for.
The role is varied on a day to day basis and includes utilizing your strong clinical skills to appropriately triage and coordinate admissions whilst working closely with clients, their families and treatment teams including our admitting Psychiatrists.
An ability to triage and coordinate potential admissions and referrals including dealing with potentially high risk cases requiring escalation via a number of alternative pathways is required. You must be able to demonstrate strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills with a proven ability to effectively liaise with internal and external clients, referrers, TGC Psychiatrists as well as emergency services and all key stakeholders to improve clinical outcomes.
The Geelong Clinic is a 73 bed Psychiatric Hospital, offering a range of inpatient, day programs and outreach services for individuals experiencing mental health problems. Located on the outskirts of Geelong within close proximity to spectacular coastal attractions, the clinic has a number of accredited Psychiatrists supported by a skilled multidisciplinary team of nursing, allied health, administration and domestic services staff.
