Irrigation Officer - Temp Contract

• This role is 6-week contract but could be extended for the right candidate.
• 76hr, 9-day fortnight with excellent rates of $45 p/hour

About the Role

We are on the search for a hands-on Irrigation Officer to help the Parks and Technical Team within a local Government role located near Joondalup. The ideal candidate will support the operation and maintenance of the area’s irrigation systems across parks and reserves, contributing to sustainable water management and public amenity.

Key Responsibilities:

• Complete routine maintenance and repairs of irrigation systems.
• Conduct inspections and testing on commercial irrigation systems.
• Program irrigation controllers to meet operational requirements.
• Modify current irrigation systems/install new irrigation systems.
• Operate small plant/equipment.
• Maintain tools, equipment and plant.
• Liaise with supervisors and external clients
• Respond to public/customer enquiries.
• Provide work reports.
• Undergoing training and development as required for the role.
• Comply with government policies and procedures and relevant legislation.

About You

• You will have experience operating and maintaining commercial irrigation systems
• You will have great communication skills
• You will be confident with using technology and information systems
• You will be able to work in a team environment
• You will have a safety awareness certification
• Have a valid C class driver’s licence
• A valid National Police Clearance (issued within the last 3 months)
• You will understand the importance of workplace safety, including hazard identification in parks and reserves

Desirable

• First Aid certification
• Knowledge of bore, pump, and motor systems

• May need to work in high-traffic or congested areas
