Job Description
Key Responsibilities
- Training cleaning teams in correct waste separation and handling practices
- Optimising bin infrastructure and signage
- Developing site-specific waste management plans
- Supporting tenant education programs and
- Holding waste contractors accountable to service standards
Implement and monitor environmental risk controls across operational service lines (cleaning, maintenance, security, concierge) to ensure site-level compliance with ISO 14001 and Glad Group’s environmental procedures.
Maintain and operationalise the business' environmental compliance framework, ensuring day-to-day adherence to relevant environmental legislation, contractual obligations, and site-specific requirements.
Identify and support practical service delivery improvements to reduce environmental impact, including the use of low-impact products (e.g. GECA-certified cleaning chemicals) and energy-efficient equipment.
Coordinate and execute carbon accounting processes, including collection, verification and reporting of Scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions in line with the Greenhouse Gas Protocol.
Support the rollout of mandatory climate reporting program through accurate data collection, cross-functional coordination, and implementation of required disclosures.
Manage routine data capture and validation activities to support customer ESG reporting frameworks (e.g. NABERS Waste, Green Star, GRESB), ensuring timely and accurate submission.
Provide validated environmental data for group-level ESG reporting as requested.
Conduct environmental and waste audits and deliver insights through clear dashboards, exception reports and improvement plans.
Design and execute site-specific waste reduction strategies in partnership with customers and tenants, supporting customer sustainability objectives.
Respond to and investigate environmental or waste-related incidents or non-compliance issues, ensuring appropriate corrective actions are implemented and recorded.
Continuously identify and implement opportunities to improve waste diversion, environmental performance and operational sustainability outcomes across Glad Group services.
About You
Tertiary qualifications in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Waste Management, or a related field.
Minimum 3 years' experience in environmental risk, sustainability or waste management, preferably within property, facilities management, or integrated property services.
Good working knowledge of Australian environmental legislation, Mandatory Climate Reporting, NABERS, and waste management frameworks.
Stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with experience working with multiple stakeholders (e.g., retailers, waste contractors, centre management).
Proven ability to collect, analyse, and interpret sustainability data.
Demonstrated experience in carbon accounting, environmental data reporting, and regulatory compliance.
Strong analytical and reporting skills, including familiarity with environmental data platforms or dashboards.
Experience collaborating with waste contractors to achieve site outcomes preferable.
