The Opportunity:
Take on a key role in the heart of NSW’s hardwood estate. Based in Casino, this opportunity as Lead Fire & Operations Officer offers the chance to make a real impact across the forests of the North Coast. You’ll be responsible for overseeing the construction and maintenance of vital roading infrastructure, supporting sustainable harvesting and operational outcomes, and leading fire protection and forest health initiatives across a diverse landscape.

We would love you to have:
• Demonstrated understanding of forest management practices including prescribed burning, road & trail construction & maintenance, silviculture, weed management and pest animal control.
• Demonstrated ability to lead a diverse team to meet complex objectives.
• Excellent understanding and commitment to safety within an operational environment.
• Demonstrated contractor management experience and knowledge of various plant equipment.
• Demonstrated ability to constructively manage stakeholder relationships to attain positive outcomes.
• Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proven organisational skills - ability to plan and prioritise work, meet standards and deadlines.
• Computer literacy and numeracy skills.
• Knowledge and understanding of relevant industry codes of practice plus legislation, regulatory requirements and best-practice methodologies.
• Ability and fitness to undertake forest firefighting and meet required fitness levels for the role
