About The Role:
We are currently seeking a highly organized and safety focusedLogistics Specialist, to join the Priestley’s family, on an initial 6-month contract. Reporting to the Head of Supply Chain, you will play a critical role in establishing and embedding sustainable, efficient, and scalable logistics and inventory processes across the business. This contract position is essential in setting up the business to achieve our strategic goals by focusing on reviewing and optimizing logistics operations, identifying opportunities for cost savings, improving service delivery, and supporting long-term operational resilience. Additionally, assist in achieving the business's strategic goals by aligning logistics initiatives with overall company objectives. This role is primarily based out of our 3PL partner's facility in Hemmant.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support in the design and implement sustainable logistics, warehouse, and inventory processes; while developing tools and frameworks to support ongoing compliance and operational efficiency.
- Review current practices, apply lean principles, and collaborate with internal/external stakeholders to optimize freight, productivity, performance and reduce waste.
- Align with sales, finance, and customers; manage 3PL/freight relationships; ensure SLAs and service expectations are met through effective coordination.
- Deliver training on systems/tools/processes; co-develop SOPs with L&D; foster a culture of knowledge sharing and capability growth within the supply chain.
- Identify cost drivers, implement savings strategies without compromising on service, and coordinate with finance, procurement, and operations to align on goals.
- Maintain dashboards and logistics performance reports; update leadership on progress; ensure regulatory and policy compliance with internal and external requirements.
- Promote a safety-first and customer-centric culture in warehouse operations; continuously improve physical, tech and system processes.

About You:
- Certificate IV in Frontline Management.
- Current forklift licence and Lean Six Sigma Certification (highly desirable).
- Minimum of 5 years experience in Inventory, Transport, Logistics or Warehouse.
- Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (ABM, AMS, MEX preferred), freight route and load planning, inventory and process improvement, and P&L/budget management.
- Background in food manufacturing (highly desirable).
- Results oriented, with the ability to meet deadlines.
- Demonstrated high levels of integrity, with excellent interpersonal, negotiation and communication skills.
- Highly organised, with exceptional problem-solving and decision making skills.
- Flexible availability outside standard work hours, including occasional afternoon or evening shifts based on business needs.
- Current driver licence and own reliable vehicle, with ability to travel between locations on an approximate 80/20 split (Hemmant to Acacia Ridge), when required.
- Physically fit (with the ability to pass a pre-employment medical assessment).
- Ability to pass a National Police Check.
