Primary objective
Manage the delivery of workforce planning services and analytics to help agencies plan, develop and retain a skilled, diverse and
future-ready workforce aligned to NTPS priorities. Co-design practical tools, plans and reports that build agency workforce
capability and capacity.
Context statement
The Workforce Development team within DCDD’s Corporate Services collaborates with Northern Territory Government agencies
to design and deliver enterprise-level workforce development solutions. These include programs, tools, advisory services and
tailored strategies that help agencies build, sustain and grow a skilled, agile and future-ready workforce.
Key duties and responsibilities
1. Support, guide and mentor individual team members; allocate tasks, build capability, and foster a collaborative, client-focused
culture.
2. Coordinate and deliver workforce planning support to agencies to strengthen capability, capacity and retention.
3. Provide high quality workforce analysis, insights, and advice to inform agency decisions (environmental scanning, workshops).
4. Work collaboratively to provide strategic support and advice to a diverse group of client agencies with the planning and
implementation of strategic workforce plans and workforce development initiatives.
5. Influence and support senior and middle managers to adopt appropriate workforce planning and management practices through
policy and strategic advice on complex workforce planning.
6. Work closely with client agencies to drive an enhanced focus and increase engagement with employees from Inclusion and
Diversity and Aboriginal Workforce cohorts.
7. Manage an annual workforce planning cycle, working closely with subject matter experts and clients to drive and maintain
progress.
8. Apply defined service quality, governance and work health and safety standards; contribute to continuous improvement and a
positive workplace culture consistent with DCDD values.
Selection criteria
Essential
1. Demonstrated experience in high level project planning through implementation, coordination and evaluation of workforce
planning initiatives to drive enterprise-wide services.
2. Strong conceptual, analytical and data skills with the ability to interpret workforce evidence and provide forward-looking
advice and options.
3. Exceptional communication, presentation and stakeholder engagement skills; able to build collaborative partnerships and
deliver customer-centric services across diverse NTPS clients and locations.
4. Experience in leading a busy team to drive the successful delivery of workforce planning and development programs/initiatives.
5. Demonstrated work ethic and attitude which emulates DCDD values of being professional, accountable, honest, respectful
and innovative.
Desirable
1. Tertiary qualification in Workforce Planning, Organisational Development, Human Resources or business management.
