About the role
Western Health is seeking reliable and dedicated casual Medical Imaging Assistants to work under the direction of the Radiographers/Sonographers. The Medical Imaging Assistant is responsible for carrying out work of a general nature to assist in the preparation and care of patients during their medical imaging exam. In addition to working with patients, the Medical Imaging Assistant will work with the radiology team to ensure workflows are coordinated for patient appointments, including performing administrative tasks, data entry, updating patient appointments and communication with referrers.
Key responsibilities:
- Assist Radiographers/Sonographers with diagnostic imaging procedures and complete computer data entry for exams.
- Communication across multi-disciplinary teams including other health professionals.
- Manage equipment and prepare patients for imaging procedures ensuring workflow is coordinated effectively and efficiently.
- Ensure examination rooms and support areas are clean and infection control practices are maintained.
- Undertake any additional tasks as requested that reasonably fall within the scope of the position and classification.
About you:
- The Medical Imaging Assistant requires high levels of Computer Literacy
