What you’ll do:
We're looking for a Senior and Principal Level Engineer to be based in either our Newcastle or Singleton offices. Working as a Tailings Engineer at WSP Australia, you will join a collaborative and supportive multidisciplinary team of highly skilled professionals who are working on a diverse range of projects across various commodities and clients. The balanced portfolio of work will allow you to build and sharpen your technical skills, keep work interesting, and continue your professional growth as you deliver best practice consulting services to clients in Australia and overseas.
- Provide technical direction of tailings design studies for multi-disciplinary projects locally and internationally.
- Review work and technical deliverables and fulfill Engineer of Record roles.
- Interface with client leads and external subject matter experts to provide complex recommendations and conflict resolution as required.
- Lead complex risk assessments including Quantitative Risk Assessment.
- Develop solutions to meet client-based standards in addition to local and international guidelines.
- Mitigate and manage risk in the design process associated with cost estimation for feasibility and detailed projects.
- Mentor and guide junior engineers within team.
- Develop solutions that meet client's standards in addition to local and international guidelines
About You
- Bachelor of Engineering Qualifications in Civil or Mining Engineering.
- Proven working experience on tailings/mine waste related projects locally or internationally, ideally in a consulting environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work efficiently autonomously and in a team environment, including on multi-disciplinary projects.
- Excellent attention to detail and time management ability.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to develop innovative solutions.
- Drive to balance innovation, quality, and technical excellence with delivery to timelines and cost.
- Understanding of local and international guidelines, best practice protocols, and client-based standards.
