THE POSITION
The Receptionist performs general receptionist and front office duties in the Primary School. This role reports directly to the Head of Primary in the first instance and ultimately to the Principal and CEO and Executive Principal.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Receptionist Duties
- Answers incoming telephone calls, determines purpose of calls, and forwards to appropriate personnel or department.
- Retrieves messages from voice mail and forwards to appropriate personnel.
- Answers questions and provides relevant information about the College and College events to families, students, staff and visitors.
- Monitors and greets visitors to school, determines nature of business, issues passes when required and directs visitors to destination.
- Receives, sorts and forwards communication to the appropriate personnel.
- Signs for delivery of products.
- Orders, receives, and maintains office supplies.
- Performs clerical duties as needed.
- Reads and comprehends instructions, correspondence, and memos. Ability to write correspondence, bulletins, memorandums and other material.
- Maintains accurate student rolls
- Uses (or learns to use) TASS competently.
- Files student reports and other school records.
- Maintains calendar of primary school events.
- Responds to emerging needs as required.
- Supports the leadership team in emergency situations.

- Knowledge of TASS.

- Demonstrates a cheerful disposition.
- Qualifications from TAFE, Business College or a recognised training provider, or related work experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Hold or an ability to obtain a Working with Children's Suitability Card prior to commencing is essential.
- Certificate III or IV in Education would be desirable but not essential.
- The work environment includes a purpose built reception desk in an air-conditioned office.
- The majority of the duties for this job are performed while seated at a desk.
- Occasional lifting of light weight items such as computer paper is required.
- Specific vision is required for all computer related tasks.
- Position to commence ASAP and concluding July 2026.
- Hours of Duty: 7.45am – 3:45pm
- Work Status: Term time + 2 weeks (total 40 weeks)
- Salary and conditions are in keeping with the Moreton Bay College Enterprise Agreement.
