About the role
We’re seeking a Principal Asset Manager to join our Asset Strategy team and help shape the future of our toll road infrastructure portfolio.
This mid to senior technical leadership role is pivotal in developing long- and short-term asset strategies and lifecycle plans that support strategic decision-making. You’ll play a key part in ensuring our roads remain safe, reliable, and profitable throughout the concession life. With a strong focus on risk management and performance optimisation, you’ll collaborate across operational, delivery, and commercial teams to drive end-to-end asset strategy outcomes.

Day-to-day, you will:
Develop upstream asset management plans and strategies for Transurban’s road infrastructure assets.- Lead whole-of-concession-life maintenance planning and investment forecasting.
- Review and update Codes of Maintenance Standards to ensure compliance and performance.
- Engage with cross-functional stakeholders to align asset strategy with business outcomes.
- Contribute to the development of renewal programs based on asset integrity and operational need.
- Provide technical leadership and guidance across the Asset Strategy function.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure asset strategies meet concession deed requirements.
- Support risk mitigation planning through detailed asset condition analysis.
This role will suit someone with a curious mind and transferrable skills and experiences, including:
- Extensive experience in asset management and engineering, ideally in pavement and road design.
- Strong understanding of infrastructure lifecycle planning and investment strategy.
- Proven ability to lead and influence across technical and business functions.
- Exceptional stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
- Strategic mindset with the ability to translate asset condition data into actionable plans.
- Experience working within complex infrastructure environments and regulatory frameworks.
