The Department of the Environment, Tourism, Science and Innovation is looking for an agile, energetic, passionate and experienced Principal HR Officer (AO7) to join our HR Transformation Team.
In this pivotal role, you'll lead one of three talented sub teams (the HR Systems and Services Team) to develop, implement, and evaluate innovative workforce policies, programs, and strategies. Your contributions will directly support continuous improvement, drive procedural innovation and sound HR governance and you'll understand how your unique work and life experiences, learnings and perspectives will help us maintain a safe and healthy workplace that values diversity, equity, respect, and inclusion. From HR policies, processes and systems to supporting strategic recruitment and workforce capability, your work will help build a stronger, more inclusive public sector.
What You'll Do:
- Provide expert advice to senior leaders on the HR systems and services that govern and support DETSI people matters and collaborate with both internal and external stakeholders as a trusted subject matter expert.
- Lead the development and delivery of impactful HR projects and BAU HR services to enhance organisational capability.
- Confidently navigate data sources, systems (including payroll), policies and procedures and harness emerging digital technologies to role model efficiency, 'people first' service delivery and process innovation.
- Provide growth opportunities and support for your team to build their capability and help them meet their career goals, as well as building the capability of our divisional HR customers.
- Develop robust and productive relationships across and beyond the department to facilitate the delivery of high-quality, collaborative HR solutions and ensure Service Level Agreements are met by external providers.
- Promote a culture that celebrates the unique perspectives of every individual, including meaningful contributions to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
Flexible locations and a hybrid work environment that genuinely supports work-life balance.
A commitment to your professional growth, with access to learning and development opportunities.
A safe, respectful, and inclusive workplace where your voice matters. Access to an unequalled range and volume of career progression opportunities across the Queensland public sector.
At our department, we celebrate the diversity of our team and welcome applicants from all walks of life, including those with disabilities or who identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander peoples.
Help us create a future-ready workforce and make a lasting impact. Apply now to join a team that cares about people working together and thriving as much as it does about delivering fantastic results for the people of Queensland
