About the Role:
As the Principal Program Officer, you will:
Oversee the provision of end-to-end contract management activities in a social service setting.
Support program management and capacity building to improve outcomes for Queensland's children and families.
The Principal Program Officer reports to the Manager of the work unit.
Responsibilities include, but not limited to;
Support the effective contract management of providers from a range of diverse and cultural backgrounds to ensure compliance with legislation, funding guidelines and departmental policies and procedures.
Research, manage and implement programs and projects ensuring the strategic aims and objectives of the government are achieved.
Provide analysis and advice on social services contracts and operational policy, program and legislative issues affecting early childhood services.
Contribute to the design, planning and review of programs and strategies for the provision of early childhood development initiatives in Queensland.
Monitor systems and strategies to ensure remedial action is taken and non-compliance issues with providers are effectively managed.
Develop and maintain effective relationships with:
Regional staff to ensure that policies and programs reflect the identified needs and issues and that programs and or services are delivered effectively.
Other work areas to ensure policies and program proposals are consistent with departmental objectives.
Other departments and non-government organisations to ensure a focus on outcomes and a whole of government approach to early childhood.
