The Role
We are seeking an experienced Procurement Manager to join our team in Perth, providing proactive management with accurate and timely analysis and reporting in procurement and inventory management across Pressure Dynamics’ business activities.
The Procurement Manager will develop and implement strategies and tactics to achieve best possible outcomes in terms of total cost of ownership, cashflow, quality and safety. The role is also responsible for ensuring the effective and efficient operation of all purchasing and inventory management activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain qualified supplier records through regular reviews and assessments
- Create and manage purchasing documentation, including requisitions, quotations, purchase orders, vendor requests, and supplier lists, in line with company standards and procedures
- Act as the single point of contact for supplier and subcontractor communications across all Pressure Dynamics sites
- Coordinate Quality Notification activities related to 3rd party suppliers and subcontractors
- Control all documentation and records associated with the purchasing function
- Propose and implement improvement programs to measure supplier delivery performance and drive corrective actions
- Coordinate vendor requests and NCRs in procurement notifications
- Develop creative and proactive solutions to expedite materials and spare parts as required
- Prepare and maintain quote records for procured items
- Collaborate with finance/commercial teams to provide accurate invoice details for monthly cut-off deadlines
- Ensure client commitments are met with respect to quality and on-time delivery of goods
- Form and maintain strategic supplier relationships
- Work closely with Sales, Operations, and Customer Service teams
- Identify process bottlenecks and implement timely solutions
- Maintain a savings register to track performance against annual savings targets
- Ensure all overdue purchase orders are actioned promptly and resolved in coordination with buyers
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum Diploma in Logistics, Supply Chain Management or equivalent
- At least 5–6 years’ relevant experience, preferably in the oil and gas, mining, maritime and defence industries
- Proven experience in procurement and inventory management, ideally within a technical or engineering environment
- Strong knowledge of supplier relationship management and contract negotiation
- Ability to implement procurement strategies that balance cost, quality, and delivery performance
- Excellent organisational and documentation skills with strong attention to detail
- Strong communication skills with the ability to liaise effectively across multiple departments and with external stakeholders
- Proficiency in procurement systems, reporting, and Microsoft Office applications
- Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software experience such as SAP, Navision or Ostendo (desirable)
- Proactive problem-solving approach with demonstrated ability to streamline processes and improve performance
