$124,423 - $157,547 a year

We’re looking for a Product Designer (UX Expert) to join Forwood — work remotely from anywhere in Australia

As a Product Designer (UX Expert) you will elevate Forwood’s product experience by delivering intuitive, elegant, and user-centered design across our platform. This role is instrumental in shaping a best-in-class EHS product by embedding deep UX practices into every stage of product development—from discovery to delivery.

As a key member of a cross-functional Product Trio (Product Manager, Product Designer, Technical Lead), you’ll own the end-to-end experience, ensuring our products are not only functional but cohesive, seamless, and delightful to use.

You will be expected to design products that are aesthetically beautiful, highly intuitive, elegantly simple—leading the safety market in user experience. We want our design to set a new standard for usability, visual appeal, and performance in safety-critical environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead user research initiatives, including interviews, journey mapping, usability testing, and feedback synthesis.
  • Translate insights into wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity experiences that address real user needs.
  • Build and maintain a scalable, platform-wide design system to drive consistency, efficiency, and a cohesive visual language across all products.
  • Collaborate closely with Product Managers and Technical Leads to validate ideas early and ensure feasibility.
  • Establish and enforce UX standards across the platform for quality and continuity.
  • Advocate for the user and champion design thinking throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Iterate rapidly on concepts based on customer feedback and evolving business needs.
  • Create experiences that are not only user-centered but also visually exceptional and intuitive—positioning Forwood as the leader in UX within the safety software domain.

Requirements/Skills

  • 5+ years of experience in UX design of enterprise software, with a strong portfolio showcasing strategic, end-to-end design work.
  • Demonstrated experience in building and maintaining design systems at scale.
  • Proficiency in UX research methods, interaction design, and usability testing.
  • Skilled in Figma or similar design and prototyping tools.
  • Deep understanding of UX principles and a user-centered mindset that goes beyond UI aesthetics.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills; ability to influence and inspire across disciplines.
  • Experience working in cross-functional product teams—ideally in a B2B SaaS or enterprise software environment (advantageous).
  • Experience and enthusiasm in using generative AI tools such as Cursor or similar, to accelerate ideation, design workflows, or interface prototyping.
  • Exposure to or interest in safety-critical or compliance-driven product domains.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Why Forwood?

We’re a global, mission-driven SaaS company working with some of the world’s biggest organizations to make high-risk work safer. You’ll join a supportive, high-performing design and marketing team where your creativity, problem-solving, and eye for detail will directly shape how our products and brand come to life.
