We have an exciting opportunity for a Production Process Operator to join the Cement Australia team in Gladstone (Fisherman’s Landing site).
This position ensures a sustainable operation of the manufacturing plant. This is a shift position on a 12-hour rotating roster working collaboratively within a shift team. Operation of production assets and critical plant checks, working within site procedures and ensuring safety, environment, quality and production targets are met are key to this position.
You will be a pivotal part of a safety culture, leading from the front and driving continuous improvement which includes taking part in SHE training, work instruction development and challenging the status quo in a positive manner. You will be delivering on our commitment to add value for our business and customers.
As a Production Services Operator, some of your duties will include:
- Adhere to all industry, Cement Australia and regulatory requirements in regard to safety, environment and compliance
- Work with the Central Control Room Operators and other team members in your shift team to respond to operating plant issues, and ensuring plant delays are minimised
- Interact with other teams, including Mine and Maintenance teams to meet production requirements
- Use your knowledge & understanding of plant operations to identify and pre-empt potential problem areas through critical plant checks
- Deliver shift quality control requirements through executing process sampling & laboratory testing responsibilities for all products
- Operation of key production assets including train unloader & ship loader equipment
- Be exposed to physically demanding environments and tasks, including hot work
- Possible opportunity for the right candidate to follow a training path to a competent Central Control Room Panel Operator, if nominated.
What You’ll Bring
- Experience in heavy manufacturing environment
- Experience in process sampling/laboratory testing
- Experience in the operation of fixed material handling equipment (i.e train unloader & ship loader equipment)
- Experience in isolations and permit issuing systems (including JPT/JSEAs & Work Instruction Development etc)
- Strong safety focus and problem solving abilities
- Ability to diagnose faults and identify potential solutions
- Proficient computer skills
- High Risk Licence – Forklift
- Cementitious manufacturing experience desirable
- Tertiary education and/or trade background desirable
- Good communication skills, “Can do” attitude and committed to delivering results
