The Bureau of Meteorology is leading a national upgrade to Australia’s flood warning portfolio. The Australian Government has invested in a 10-year commitment into the national Flood Warning Infrastructure Network (FWIN) Program, which will upgrade and acquire water level and rain gauges, and associated communications equipment, for high priority catchments. The FWIN Program will improve community access to rain and river level observations and enhance provision of flood forecasts and warnings, supporting disaster preparedness, response and recovery.

The Project Coordinator (FWIN) role exists to provide project support, quality control and guidance to the Infrastructure Delivery stream of the FWIN Program, promoting governance standards, tools and templates, and to provide support to Project Managers and team members.

The Project Coordinator (FWIN) role sits in the Delivery Office, Data & Digital Group (DDG), assigned to work on the FWIN Program within the Business Services Group (BSG). The Delivery Office provides specialist delivery and planning services as part of delivering Bureau digital programs of work by partnering with the EPMO and DDG in the delivery of operational and strategic outcomes.

The Project Coordinator (FWIN) role will be expected to contribute effectively across a diverse range of skillsets including accounts payable, documentation control, procurement, PMO functions, reporting & vendor management. To be successful in the role, you must be agile and able to adapt to the evolving needs of the program, meet deadlines, marshal broad stakeholder expertise towards common outcomes, and have a meticulous approach to maintaining quality standards. Within this role, there will be flexibility to influence and utilise your expertise to enhance the overall outcomes of the program.

This position reports to the Delivery Coordinator, Delivery Office, DDG.
