Due to the significant expansion of our service centre we are now looking for Expressions of interest for additional technicians to join our National Service Centre in Notting Hill, Melbourne.

Join Olympus Australia in ensuring the highest quality of servicing and repair on our medical equipment through your attention to detail and dedication to excellence.

As a Repair technician, you will play a vital role in our Service team by repairing, servicing and conducting the final inspection of repaired equipment to ensure compliance with Olympus' high standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct quality checks and final inspections of repaired medical equipment, ensuring it meets Olympus standards before being released to customers.
  • Perform inspections independently, separate from the repair function, to ensure objectivity and compliance with Olympus policies, including Endonavi, IISE, TSGG, and Global BOLD policy.
  • Repair and service endoscopes, including diagnosing faults, disassembly, mechanical repairs, and reassembly, following technical work instructions.
  • Provide feedback to Technical Specialists and Team Leaders on issues identified during inspections and offer solutions for rectifications.
  • Service and replace parts as necessary to maintain equipment functionality and reliability.
  • Maintain accurate records, including updating SAP systems, and ensure that all tools, test equipment, and work areas follow 5S standards.
  • Notify management of any quality issues encountered during inspections or repairs and propose corrective actions.
  • Uphold the Olympus core values while maintaining a high level of quality in the repair and final inspection processes.

Opportunities are available on Afternoon Shift from 2:30pm – 10:30pm. Our aim is to set all employees up for success. This will require a training period of 3 month with all training being conducted on day shift 6:00am – 2:00pm.

What we are looking for:

  • Ability to solder lead-free wires, ranging from 32 to 42 gauge.
  • Experience with mechanical assembly and disassembly.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and follow procedures.
  • Mechanical aptitude with excellent hand-eye coordination.
  • Experience in fine detail repairs and good manual dexterity.
  • Strong planning, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong computer literacy and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
