This role is in the DroneShield Sydney headquarters in Pyrmont, Sydney. There are approximately 330 staff based in the 4,000sqm facility today, scheduled to grow to approximately 400 staff by end of 2025. Overseas on the ground presence includes Virginia (USA), Denmark, Germany and Dubai, as well as distributors in over 70 countries globally.
About the role
The company is looking to recruit a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our finance team in the role of Revenue and Billing Analyst. Reporting to the Financial Controller, this position will support key aspects of revenue recognition, billing, reporting, and financial operations, while also playing a supporting role in the implementation and maintenance of our customer relationship management (CRM) and ERP systems.

Responsibilities, Duties and Expectations
- Perform accurate and timely revenue recognition in line with AASB 15, including monthly reconciliations of revenue and unearned revenue accounts.
- Prepare weekly revenue reports and support monthly analysis of revenue performance, margins, and project billing.
- Take ownership of revenue forecasting, working directly with the sales team and CRM data to provide forward-looking insights and analysis.
- Review quotes and generate invoices in accordance with pricing structures and contractual terms; monitor and manage accounts receivable.
- Support the implementation and ongoing maintenance of the CRM system, ensuring finance data and workflows are properly integrated.
- Contribute to process improvements, documentation of SOPs, and strengthening of internal controls related to revenue.
- Perform commission calculations for completed orders, utilising contractual rates and formulas.
Qualifications, Experience and Skills
- CA or CPA qualified, or on path to completion in the near term.
- 3+ years’ experience in a finance or accounting role, with exposure to revenue, billing, or forecasting preferred.
- Strong analytical and Excel skills
- Experience with ERP or CRM systems is an advantage (Oracle, SalesForce)
- Ability to apply judgement and work with incomplete or evolving data sets.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across departments
