About the team
Join a dynamic team driving resilience across the organisation by leading the implementation of risk management and business continuity. As Risk Officer, you will support the implementation of risk management strategies, tools and processes across the organisation to effectively manage risks and issues, enabling the successful achievement of strategic objectives.
Your day-to-day:
- Support regular meetings, workshops, and consultation sessions with representatives across the organisation as well as internal and external stakeholders to ensure appropriate identification, assessment, and recording of risks and issues.
- Act as key point of contact on matters related to risk and issue management, including providing support and coordinating advice to stakeholders during identification, implementation, assessment, and review of risk controls and treatment plans.
- Support the review of risk information provided by stakeholders for quality, accuracy, completeness and appropriateness, including progress in implementation of agreed treatment plans, as well as assuring controls, while coordinating support to stakeholders for advice and training where needed.
- As part of the risk management team, support the development and implementation of risk management roadmap, tools, processes and systems, and actively contribute to continuous improvement and the establishment of an appropriate risk culture.
- Actively participate in the development and facilitation of risk training and awareness programs to embed risk management across the organization.
- Contribute to regular reporting to internal and external stakeholders on matters related to risks and issues to ensure there is oversight by senior management, executive leadership team and audit and risk committee (ARC).
- Assist in responding to high-priority risks, issues or incidents at both the enterprise and divisions levels.
To be successful in this role you will demonstrate:
- Knowledge of applicable risk management standards and best practice guidelines.
- Demonstrated experience in supporting risk consultation, workshop facilitation, and risk awareness training.
- Ability to assess complex risk scenarios, interpret data, and develop practical mitigation strategies.
- Capable of building relationships across diverse teams and clearly conveying risk concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Familiarity with preparing risk reports, dashboards, and supporting governance committees or forums.
- Demonstrated ability to use various enterprise risk management platforms or software (e.g., Service Now, Altus) to support risk tracking and reporting.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Baseline Security Clearance - to be eligible to apply for this role, you must be an Australian citizen and, as a condition of employment, obtain and maintain an Australian Government security clearance at the level specified for this role.
