Join our Downer Professional Services team and play a key role in delivering complex defence and national security projects that safeguard Australia’s future.
Downer Professional Services is comprised of two business units, our Technical, Advisory, and Capability consulting practice and Team Downer, a major service partner to Defence. Together, we are a multi-disciplinary advisory and delivery partner of choice for our clients in Defence and National Security.
We currently have an opportunity for a Risks, Assumptions, Issues and Dependencies (RAID) Manager in Canberra to work a Defence Cyber Project.
What You’ll Do
This role offers a broad scope, with key responsibilities including:
- Monitor and manage project risks, issues, assumptions, and dependencies, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and frameworks.
- Conduct regular risk reviews, facilitate Risk Review Boards, and maintain project risk registers.
- Develop, implement, and refine risk management, business continuity, and crisis management processes.
- Provide risk-related insights, reporting, and trend analyses to stakeholders and senior leadership.
- Coach and mentor project teams on risk management best practices.
- Ensure clear and effective communication of risk-related matters across all levels of the organization.
What You’ll Bring
- Familiarity with risk and project management tools and frameworks.
- Understanding of ISO standards (ISO 31000, ISO 9001).
- Basic knowledge of cybersecurity principles.
- Previous experience in a similar role, ideally within the Defence or professional services industries.
Due to the nature of the work, you are required to currently hold and maintain a minimum Negative Vetting 1 or higher Security clearance as required by the Commonwealth. In some instances, compliance with International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) requirements may also be an inherent requirement.
