ADD VALUE - THE ROLE
The RMCC Inspection Officer is responsible for undertaking routine and ad hoc audits of all infrastructure assets of the Roads Maintenance Council Contract (RMCC) between Council and Transport for NSW (TfNSW) and assisting with local road projects undertaken by Council.
Key responsibilities include;
- Whilst working in partnership with TfNSW, contractors and Council’s Infrastructure Delivery team, ensure routine maintenance and ordered works are planned, managed and delivered at agreed budgets and timeframes and in accordance with Council’s quality, safety, environmental and traffic policies whilst adhering to RMS contractual, specification and legislative requirements.
- Manage Council and contractors Quality, Project, Safety, Traffic and Environmental management plans under the RMCC and ensure that all contractors and subcontractors have undertaken site specific inductions and comply with Council Policy, WHS legislation and safe work procedures.
- Maintain, monitor, review and accurately report the status of routine services and ordered works against TfNSW reporting requirements.
- Collect field information data ensuring it is recorded in the appropriate system and is accurate and available for decision-making.
- Maintain an accurate record of required completed works in Council’s Maintenance Management System including in the field and record data for inspections, defects and accomplishments.
- Enter assessment and inspection data in both field and computer desktop hardware.
Essential to this role is a Certificate III Civil Construction with sound knowledge and skills in civil engineering construction and maintenance work or a combination of relevant experience, knowledge and skills sufficient to perform the duties and responsibilities of the position. A sound level of computer literacy including the ability to use Microsoft Word, Excel and Council systems, and a commitment to providing excellent customer service to both internal and external customers of Council, is also required in this role.
This position is offered on a permanent, full-time basis working 35 hours per week.
Remuneration package for this position is based on Grade 10 of Council's Salary System Protocol which equates to a base salary of $82,646 - $92,967 per annum plus superannuation. This position includes the benefit of commuter use of a fit-for-purpose vehicle.
