The Cancer Centre for Children Department at The Children's Hospital at Westmead are seeking a temporary 1.0FTE (40 hours per
week ) Staff Specialist to join their team from 15 October 2025 through to 9 December 2025.
The Blood Transplant and Cell Therapies Service (BTCT), within the Cancer Centre for Children at The Children’s Hospital at Westmead, offers a comprehensive Blood and marrow transplant and cellular therapy service for children of all ages and with all diagnoses. This multi-disciplinary s ervice is focused on delivering excellent clinical care to children and supporting their families . This appointment is expected to provide excellence and leadership in the delivery of therapy to these patients and in the development and translation of new therapies in the future.
Participate in review and improvement activities, as well as training and education of staff.
Abide by the hospital code of conduct and participate in annual performance reviews for clinical services in accordance with the Staff Specialist (State) Award.

- Eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia. Specialist Training in Paediatrics and Paediatric Oncology +/- Medical Oncology (F.R.A.C.P or equivalent overseas qualification).
- Demonstrated clinical experience in Paediatric Blood Transplant and Cellular Therapies in a leadership role.
- Demonstrated effective leadership in a multidisciplinary team, incorporating effective clinical communication through the use of information technology and written, verbal and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated commitment to teaching, continuing education, research and quality improvement.
- Availability to participate in an on-call roster and to respond within a reasonable time including on site when necessary.
