About the Portfolio
The Operations Portfolio enables an integrated, enterprise wide delivery for best practice student and staff experiences.
The Portfolio incorporates the following business units: Enterprise Projects and Business Performance (EPBP), Communications, People, Information and Technology Services (ITS), Office of the Chief Operating Officer, Procurement and Vietnam Operations.
The Portfolio houses significant drivers and delivery components across the staff and student journeys and enables the overall experience for both groups. The Portfolio is integral in bringing the RMIT strategy to life, across the globe. Each of these functions supports the global operations of the University both directly as well as through its controlled entities.
The Information Technology Services (ITS) function, provides RMIT University with current and emerging Technology systems and services. The Role
The Senior Business Analyst will work closely with business, executive-level, and technical stakeholders to define the scope and requirements for AI Capability, identify business processes, and support the design of the AI Capability framework. They will also work on the functional aspects of solutions in alignment with business needs, RMIT, and the ITS Strategy. Taking on a proactive role in helping shape a project from inception through to completion, the Business Analyst will work closely with PM, Business, architects, developers, and testers in ensuring that the delivered solution meets business needs.
The incumbent will become an expert in the business or technical domain in which they operate and will provide consultative advice to stakeholders as needed. The Business Analyst will support Project Manager(s) in the completion of their project tasks and deliverables that relate to business analysis, e.g., analysis planning and estimates. Business Analyst will also be a key contributor to the BA Practice and play an active role in sharing knowledge and skills with other Business Analysts.
Skills & Experience
Mandatory experience in senior stakeholder management, requirements gathering and analysis, business process development, and use case development.
Strong knowledge of the SDLC and involvement across the entire project lifecycle
Consultative and open-minded, with highly effective communication, interpersonal skills, and attention to detail
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking and systems thinking skills.
Excellent workshop facilitation skills
Demonstrated ability to take on accountability for complex pieces of work and work autonomously.
Experience in Artificial Intelligence, including understanding business requirements and rolling out AI capabilities to the Business, will be an advantage.
Flexible, able to adapt to change quickly and work with some ambiguity, yet still delivering quality outcomes.
Demonstrate any prior knowledge or experience working in an environment where the Organization is trying to build a framework for a new capability.
Great at Business analysis, applying critical and creative thinking to identify/solve a problem at hand
2-3 years of experience working in Agile methodology.
Experience engaging executive-level stakeholders.
Minimum 8 years of experience working as a Senior Business Analyst.
