The Salvation Army (Salvos) is one of the largest providers of homelessness services across the country. Our philosophy is that every person should be afforded dignity and respect and that no one should be without a safe, affordable, and secure home. We provide services and supports to adults, and families with accompanying children in the form of accommodation, case management, assertive outreach, financial assistance, community connection and referral services.
About the role
As a Team Leader - Community Outreach, this is your opportunity to oversee the daily operations of the Community Outreach Support Services operating under WA Homelessness Stream. This will comprise of the:
- Independent Living Units (Recovery Programme)
- Family Accommodation Program
- Street to Home Service.
Reporting to the Manager - Outreach Services, this is a permanent, full-time position based in Northbridge, WA.
Salary and conditions are in accordance with the SCHADS Award, Level 6.
How you will make an impact
- Maintain a collaborative working partnership within the Outreach Support Services leadership team.
- Approve or reject client applications in consultation with the relevant project teams.
- Develop, review and update team members case plans.
- Gathering of statistics for reporting purposes e.g. Monthly SHIP reporting (NPAH).
- Develop productive relationships within the team and contribute to quality team performance and team wellbeing.
- Demonstrate a collaborative approach to service delivery and improvement within the team.
- Capability development plans are implemented for the team to improve capability and service delivery
What you will bring
- Appropriate tertiary qualifications in Social Work, Social Welfare, Community Development or related field and relevant experience in a Social Service environment as specified in the award description.
- Degree in Social Work or any related field (Desirable.)
- Relevant experience in a social service environment including experience in supervising staff.
- National police record check
- Working with Children Check
- Current WA Drivers licence
- Current First Aid Certificate with CPR
