A little about the role
Therapeutic Specialist will provide clinical services and assessments to carers, children and young people as well as supporting, consulting, and training Social Workers, Carers and Support Workers to ensure high quality practice implementation and delivery of therapeutic foster care.
- You will take a lead role in the undertaking of Trauma needs assessment and the development/ implementation of therapeutic plans for children and young people.
- You will provide individual, family and systemic therapy to children and foster carers as required and in accordance with an agreed plan.
- You will recommend and implement plans with carers that address the assessed needs of children and young people, including those with disability or special needs, recognising that the carers are the primary agents of change.
This position is a permanent, full-time role.
About you
- You will have a recognised relevant qualification in counselling, systemic psychotherapy, family therapy, clinical Social Work or Clinical Psychology or a core qualification with significant experience and training in trauma informed and positive behaviour planning approaches.
- You will have demonstrated experience working with children and young people in care and/or foster carers.
- You will have excellent collaborative skills, demonstrated by experience working with professionals in health, disability, education and children and family services.
- You will have experience completing broad-based assessments, drawing upon contemporary research and theory, and making appropriate written evidence-based recommendations.
